  2. Hey Plum ... do you tweet?
I've just started tweeting: Spot the Dog @caninegoldfish.
The big man chose the address. Apparently he thinks I'm such a dopey dog that I'm the canine equivalent of something called "goldfish". Doesn't sound very complimentary to me :D

    1. Hi Spot. I don't tweet but Emma does. I wish she didn't because once she starts looking at that thing she's GONE. But I'll ask her to look you up and follow you. Oh! She's done it. You are a very handsome dog I must say. Are you partly fish? If so, which bit? Px

    2. No, Plum, I'm *not* partly fish. Pure greyhound through & through ... and proud of it.
Glad you think I'm handsome ... so does nearly everyone else :-)

  3. Dear Plum,
I think this is a problem we all have. James's patter runs along these lines:
'Come on, let's go a bit quicker... Oh you want to sniff do you? Well make it quick... Come on now, that's enough sniffing. It's too cold to stand around... Do you really want to go in that ditch? All right then, just quickly... Right you've had a drink and there's no point in just standing there, let's go and find lunch... All right then we'll go slowly... Oh you want to go on the other side of the road... Oh you want to roll... OH COME ON!' I think I'd rather have singing.
It was very kind of you to suggest we could join you in Aldeburgh, but sadly James doesn't have a car and I hate the bus. However, If you ever pass through Bury St Edmunds on your way home I know a little pet shop where they give out delicious free biscuits to regulars and I'm sure I could put a word in for you. I'm known there, you know. love, Katie x

    1. Dear Katie,
Gosh! That does sound like tedium personified - as he IS a person. They are so terribly limited, aren't they? Those are the sort of thoughts best kept to themselves, but will they ever? Not a chance. They think we are interested in absolutely everything. I am silent when we walk because I am thinking interesting thoughts. Productive thoughts. Someone has to.
      Love Plum x

  4. Plum, I am surprised you listen that closely. Bailey has never listened to me on a regular basis. The new pup, Tulip, is following his lead. I never subject anyone to my singing so I only sing in the car by myself! xoxoxo

    1. Dear Vicki, I'm sure that your singing is a lot better than Emma's, even though it can only be a human voice, which sadly, isn't up to much. Can you tell me how Bailey and Tulip have learnt to zone out when you are doing it? I think it might be useful for me to know.
      Love from Plum xoxoxox

  5. I've been told that Emma has a lovely singing voice and that very few are privileged enough to hear it, so he says anyway, but you should hear the racket he makes. Lots of love from your cousin Clara

  6. Emma says he sings like a nightingale. I've never met one but if it came anywhere near me making a noise like that, I'd soon knock it on the head. Or maybe bite it. How nice of you to write, Clara. Love from your affectionate cousin, Plum.
