  1. Peace and happiness you certainly do spread dear Plum...and all those cats and foxes will just have to take their chances. Happy New Year to you, Emma and all your friends. Reading your diary gives me immense pleasure; thank you.

  2. Ummm Plum, you forgot to mention that you can't catch ME!!
You are more than welcome to catch Meaghan, she doesn't move (waddle) too fast since she is so "fluffy".
    Happy New Year anyway. ^..^

    1. I know! I know! I realised my dreadful mistake afterwards. I'm so sorry Gracie (and Meaghan). Please forgive me. You know I would never dream of trying.
I hope you are having a happy new year. It's quite boring here.
      Lots of love Plum xx

  7. That's all very well Plum, but are you sure you aren't suffering from a bit of post-christmas and too-much-dog-chocolate benevolence here? What about
I will never again under any circumstances wear a cracker party hat...
I will not wait any more 'just-a-minutes' for my rightful dues of food and fresh air
I will never again speak to anyone who laughs when my entire personal toy box is upended in the middle of the floor and SAT on......especially by a PUPPY....

There....i think that gives a far more balanced picture...Happy new year and love from Fudge xxx

    1. Oh Fudge. You are right. I will start another one. Everyone says I have a long list of improvements to make. So far 2016 has been quite hard work.

  9. A word of caution dear sweet Plum.....
I once knew a dog who chased cats. Then one day the cat didn't run. (Totally against the dog-vs-cat rules of engagement, I know, but there you have it...cats are like that).
Dad had to go out and save the dog. It was very embarrassing all around.

    1. Thanks for the warning, Hilarie. I will bear it in mind - however I do have a plan. I am going to catch my cat when it is asleep. They do sleep outside sometimes don't they? So I'm keeping my eyes open.

  10. Laughing and smiling at your charming book. A friend with cats gave it to me, and Chester my very large brown poodle puppy. He would like me to quiet down as he's trying to take a nap.

  12. Hope springs eternal, eh Plum? I'm surprised you can leap around like that after all that Doggy Rocky Road. Or are you being cruelly rationed again? I'm glad you liked your present, and Emma too. She obviously feels like me and George the bear about reading, and Hoffnung captures that perfectly.
Happy New Year to you both. James

    1. I loved the Rocky Road and Emma loves the Hoffnung. You are very clever at finding presents. I hope you are having a nice January so far. I hope it will get nicer than this. I don't think much of it so far.

  14. Hi Plum,

I love your resolutions, and am not surprised by my Aunty Fudge's usual grumpiness. Reflective of her attitude throughout Christmas, although she did play with me for about 5 seconds!

I thought I'd share my resolutions:
    1. catch a pigeon (I came close today)
    2. Bury enough treats in my bed for as many midnight feasts as I like
    3. Make my Aunty Fudge like me, and then maybe she'll play with me!

    Happy New Year!

    Licks,
    Archie (The PUPPY)

    1. Dear Archie,
I expect she'll come round in the end. I think you sound extremely intelligent. Your resolutions are perfect. I might add Catch a Pigeon to mine actually. Top idea. Might be easier than a cat and there are hundreds here in London. And good idea about treats. But how do you not eat them straight away?
