Mutts

  1. Bumble agrees with you Plum - she is proud to have Spaniel and Poodle blood in her and thinks that if Mutt is good enough for President Obama then it's good enough for her

    1. Dear Bumble,
Mutts are the best. I didn't know President Obama had one! I would like to go to the White House and visit him. He sounds like a sensible person. Clever you to know that.

  2. Of course you have feelings, Plum! People can be very insensitive, especially when they come to the realisation that they don't know everything. Much easier to make fun. You and Liffey look as though you're having a wonderful time running in the park. Giorgi wishes he could join you...

I wish Giorgi could join us too. Thank you for your kind comment. It made me feel much better, knowing that you understand.

  3. Poor Plum (and Liffey)

Really, they have no idea how hurtful they can be do they? When I process about In all my grand and royal Cavalier-ness (I believe they used to wear floppy hats with feathers - can you imagine the nose-tickling....I'm glad they stopped that!) and people stop to enquire after me, my mum just points out that my legs are too short......
I don't know why we put up with them! The excellence and resplendence of your character shines through every paw-print.....treat them with the contempt they deserve.

Love and sympathy from Fudge. Xx

    1. Dear Fudge,
I was shocked when I read your comment. I can't believe they say things like that IN FRONT OF YOU! How unfeeling… how insensitive. It's amazing how humans manage to convince themselves that we don't understand their language - when it suits them - and yet they also expect us to understand it - when it suits them.
I like short legs best of all. I can't see the point in very long ones. I really dislike being towered over, so I expect you would be perfect in my eyes - and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, although I haven't beholded you yet.

  5. Dear Plum,
You two really are plums in a pod. I've stared and stared at the picture of you both on Twitter, but I still can't tell who is upright and who is inverted. How beautiful those trees are. Nature finds a worthy chronicler in Emma.
Anyway Poppy and Minnie have gone home and the house feels very very empty. Perhaps one day another doggy friend will take up permanent residence, but for now at least you'll just have to make do with me.

    1. Dear James,
I hope you aren't feeling lonely. Maybe I could come and stay with you now and then. I always thought Katie lived in a very nice place. I am quite bored of the park so I hope we'll be going to the sea soon.
Yes, I think you should have another doggy friend as soon as possible, but until you do, it's very nice having you here without one.

  6. A whoosell by any other name would be just as sweet but not nearly so charming to the ear.
    You could have been a Emma's Ru-poppett....>:-)

  7. Dear Plum,

We are all mixed breeds at this point in history any way, so don't feel bad.
I am Occicat and Shorthair, and my Mum is English and Irish. I don't know what Meaghan's Mum got up to, but she is Maine Coon and the result of a midnight tryst. ;-)

It just makes us all far more interesting and beautiful, and far more unique.
(Except for my Mum, the English/Irish combo's are ten a penny)

    Love, Gracie

  8. Dear Gracie,
Sorry for such a slow reply. You know how it is… cannot get anyone to attend to my needs without asking ten million times and this time I gave up. But now, finally, she's typing.
I was greatly relieved to read your wise words. As ever, you made me feel much better. Thank you my dear feline friend.
