  2. Happy New Year Plum!! Your new garden looks lovely, but I am a little envious that you still have greenery and leaves on your shrubs; all we have are drab brown hedges and grey skies EVERY DAY!
Your new years resolutions sound very good except that you will never be able to catch a cat, we are generally far to fast and graceful to be caught by silly dogs. HA! Still, it's good to have a goal in life.
You could catch Meaghan because she doesn't run; at best she manages a determined waddle, but since she lives here in Toronto and you are a Continental Canine I guess she is safe.
I hope Emma and your Dad are getting settled and making your new home comfortable for you, it was very generous of them to buy you a new house and garden for Christmas! All Meaghan and I got were some catnip mice and lobster cat food. My Mum seems anxious that we enjoy the food but I prefer chicken, and Meaghan said that she didn't want any mushy stuff.

    Love Gracie, and Meaghan

    1. Dear Gracie and Meaghan,

I think Emma exaggerated the view in the last picture - quite a bit. It's actually mostly brown, and we can't really see the sea. But you know how artists are. I suppose I'm lucky to have found her. At least I don't have to pay her.
On food: Mostly dreadful mush here too. Sometimes just dreadful brown biscuits that are made of cardboard. Chicken? Ha! I have to pretend to be very ill to get that.

  3. Dear Plum,
How very exciting! Where on earth are you? (Roughly - you don't want fans camping out on the lawn.) It looks like Suffolk, in which case welcome and we hope you are happy here as we have been. James confesses a twinge of regret in that he saw you as a window on city life (shops, galleries, pavements, things like that), but we are so pleased you have both got what you and Emma have wanted for some time.
    love, Katie
PS. I'm sick with envy that Gracie has had a mention in the blog.

    2. Dear Katie,
I haven't given up my city life entirely. I am hoping to continue to provide ever fascinating glimpses of both town and country life, now that we have a shoebox to stay in, by the sea, not so far from you, in fact. Thank you for your nice message.
      Love from Plum
PS. I couldn't say I was going to catch a cat and not mention that I wouldn't dream of trying to catch Gracie since she is my only feline acquaintance and friend. I hope you understand.
