  2. Oh my! Poor Plum. You have been missed terribly. We were so worried over your absence. We are so GLAD to see you! Emma, too!

  3. I am so happy to read something new from you, even it was such a boring Time for you and Liffey. I hope you'll write about this un-boring day.

Thank you for your kind words. Life has improved - a bit. Though nothing could have been as dull as those February days. Roll on Spring!

  4. Dear Plum,
How lovely you are back. I hope you won't think we've been impatient, when you have obviously been the soul of patience. Or perhaps not. Anyway we all look forward to seeing the fruits of Emma's labour in due course.
Regarding your application for membership of Plumaholics Anonymous, with respect I am not sure that would be appropriate. An Oxford student once invited JRR Tolkein to be president of the university's JRR Tolkein Society, and he replied that that might look somewhat immodest. Can one with dignity join an organization dedicated to one's own praise? Perhaps we can seek Gracie's opinion on this point.
Two months' worth of accumulated love,

    1. Dear James,
If you don't mind me saying - I think your reply is rather STUFFY. I think Gracie has a more modern and inclusive take on the subject so I've decided I'm only going to listen to her. She is a cat, after all, and they have been wise since the Egyptians, so I think we can trust her. Sorry to be so blunt but I know that's one of my endearing features and why you've become fond of me, isn't it?

  5. Dear Plum and James,

I think Plum can certainly be an honourary member of the Plumaholics Anonymous Club, but it would be somewhat vain to be an active member, you are not a cat after all.

I am so happy you are back to writing about your boring life, I long for the days of my own boredom! Now we have a "kitten" and life is a rollercoaster of emotion from serious annoyance to outrage and sometimes the smallest amount for seething jealousy when MY MUM pets her and tells her she's a good girl!!!! I am the only beautiful good girl in this house!!! Meaghan doesn't count she is good without even trying. Her certificate of sainthood is in the mail, but I have to work at it!!

    Love,

    1. Dear, dear Gracie,
I wish I could express the shedloads of sympathy I have for you. I really do. I hope you've seen I've been singing your praises to that James above. He has got some funny ideas. Thank heavens for you, Gracie. Is there any chance that Allegra might grow up to become wise like you? Probably hard to tell at the moment. I hope you are giving her a good whopping with your delicate paw from time to time. Keep her in her place. Kittens are really the end in my opinion. I could come and help you...?
      Lots of love

    1. Dear Guy,
Well I hope that it will be in a bookshop but if not it will be on the amazon or waterstones website I think.
I'm sorry you get bored too. It is one of those things that happen when we are young. When we get older time will go too fast to notice being bored and we'll just be trying to catch up all the time.

I too am delighted that you are back as I have had not a single sympathetic ear to moan to about my afflictions. I think there is a lot to be said for a bit of decent boredom - you should be jolly grateful. I have got Archie (the ex-PUPPY)staying with me for THREE months! He rushes everywhere, mainly in circles, steals all my treasures and growls if I go in his half of the room. OK, I don't play with them much, being mainly asleep, but I count them all and they're MINE, especially my mum's knee.
I do rather like his breakfast(and supper and treats)and he is quite warm on a cold Highland night, but apart from that I'm in despair. Please send soothing words Plum...

With love, sadly, from Fudge xx

So, so sorry for your affliction. But look on the bright side - at least he is not a KITTEN who is going to live with you FOREVER! See poor Gracie above. Soon your three months will be over and he'll be gone. Who knows - you might even miss him...? Especially his breakfast.

  8. My goodness....sounds like there has been chaos and upheavals on every side this past month. I can't help but feel so sorry for Emma, Plum. That sketch of you and Liffey BOTH getting sick - how awful for Emma. No wonder she took to her bed. I would have too.
I'm glad you all healed eachother. Let's not do that again.

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Hilarie. The only ones directed at poor Emma who was the real sufferer all through February - AND January. In fact she deserves a medal, or at least a holiday.
However, creeping upstairs to her bed in the afternoon is becoming something of a bad habit...

  9. Dear Plum,

As you can see, you were greatly missed! Welcome back!!! And we hope you are feeling better now. Emma, Ellie can't wait for the new book! She bought Plumdog for a young friend in Canada, who has, in turn, become the newest Plum fan.

    Cheers,
    Giorgi

    1. Dear Giorgi,
Thank you! We missed you too.
Do you mean the Plumdog children's picture books? There are 2 of those and then also a book of wise thoughts (?) called The Plumdog Path To Perfection. There's going to be another blog book at Christmas called Another Year of Plumdog...
Emma says she thinks I've had enough attention to last me a lifetime and that's probably enough books about me - but how can there ever be enough?

  10. Dear Plum,
We just discovered your book, Love is my Favorite Thing, at our library in Thornton, Colorado. We LOVE it! We have a big, black dog just like you and a little white dog that is cute and fluffy. The big, black one is Grub and the little white one that is cute and fluffy is named Hera. We can't wait to follow your blog!
    Your new friends,
    Annika and April

  11. Dear Plum,
I sometimes get bored too. But I don't have someone with me all the time, someone to entertain me like Liffey. I am happy that you are not sick anymore.
    Love
