Here are some of the daily doings of Plum and her owner.
Every doggy's fear! Very eloquently put, Plum!
Thank you, Ellie. I do my best. Some emotions are harder to express than others.Plum x
The details in your paintings, Plum, are just lovely. The grain of the floor, the insides of the boots-- little things that add up to make a beautiful whole. And of course we're all very relieved that the lead came out at last.
Thank you Ellie. That's very kind of you. Emma works away at the pictures for hours, squinting with her poor old eyes for long hours into the night. Sometimes the results are okay, but they're not always what I was hoping for. But she's the only artist I know, so I have to be grateful.LovePlum

Oh Plum, you know you are one of the most important members of the family!I doubt you get left very often. xoxoxo, Vicki and Tulip
Dear Vicki and Tulip. You are always so understanding and sympathetic. Thank you. I've been left behind in the evening rather a lot this week and I am not going to put up with it if it happens again tomorrow night.Love from Plum xxx
My family just discovered Plum's diary and loves it! Our golden retriever, Obi, was wondering if he could have a British pen/paw pal.
Dear WillI was hoping that very same thing too.Love fromPlum
Dear PlumI am so glad you have so cleverly tried to explain to THEM what it feels like not to know what they're thinking. We have finally moved house (at least, I think that's what we've been doing) after months of really long journeys and nothing where I expect it to be or smelling right. I have found the best solution is to get right inside whatever has clearly been left out for the next journey and if possible entwine yourself around whatever they seem to find most precious......normally those key things that make the car work. If necessary, eat them. If it's a keyless starter, presenting your stomach to the ignition switch works well and definitely ensures they can't go anywhere at all without you. I have found some resulting improvement in their communication skills (even if including some unusual vocabulary).....a sharp reminder to them that we are the undeniable centre of their universe. Dogs Unite to defeat paranoia- we will not be left behind!Love from FudgePaws Up for Caninepower xx
Dear Fudge,I must say I admire your spirit - and your techniques. Did you really eat the car keys? I have noticed the unusual vocabulary sometimes, especially IN the car. I think you are terribly clever to know what it all means. I just slide into a deep decline and think the world has come to an end. From now on I SHALL FIGHT BACK and overcome my natural neurosis if I can. You are an inspiration.Thank you Fudge.Love Plum
Dear Emma, I am sorry to have to tell you that Katie passed away peacefully recently after a short illness. It is a shock and a huge sadness, but she was a lovely dog and she will live on in many happy memories forever. It's a shame you never got to meet her, but I hope some of her spirited, stubborn, completely lovable character came across in the messages I forwarded for her. I am lucky to have had her companionship for nearly 15 brilliant years. James
Dear James,So sorry to hear about Katie. I am certain, however, that she felt her 15 years with you were, quite simply, wonderful.Warm thoughts from Ellie and Giorgi
Dear James,I am terribly sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how sad you must be feeling. Even though we never met Katie, it was easy to tell that she was an amazing character and companion and was much loved. We will continue to treasure her messages and her generous spirit. Thank you for being her secretary over the last couple of years and for the friendship. We will miss her very much. I hope that we can stay in touch with you, if and when you feel like it.Love from Emma and Plum.
Dear James,I am so sorry to hear Katie has passed away. Please try to focus on all the joy she gave you rather than the heartache of the present. She sounded like a wonderful old girl.Love, Gracie and her Mom.
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Hurray, you got to go together!! It is always very worrisome when the bags appear...
