Apple Of My Eye

  1. My dog Sophie used to love apples. She used to steal apples from the farmer's market stands. (Course I paid for them.) This reminded me of her and how I miss her.

    Enjoy your apples,Plum.

    1. Dear Suesis
I'm sorry you are missing Sophie. She sounds like an interesting and inventive character. Thank you for writing. We send love. xx

  2. Yummy apples, Plum! And the green ones especially. Grandma may not understand your enthusiasm for them, but I certainly do...
    Have one for me too,

    1. Dear Giorgi,
You and I have so much in common. Do you like mulberries? I have just discovered them. But they make quite a mess.

  3. Dear Plum,
Human beings do have great difficulty in seeing the world from the dog's perspective, don't they? If only they would try life would be fun fun fun!
I am looking forward to coming up to London next week to see the House of Illustration. Are you featured? James

    1. Dear James,
Humans try so hard but as they get older, they forget almost everything. My ones are quite old. But luckily they are still quite juvenile at heart, so I forgive them as long as they are up for a tug-of-war now and then, while I still have my teeth.

  4. How I wish I could chase apples or anything really. My mum and dad have abandoned me in some kind of prison with only my favourite rat and duck for company whilst they sit on a beach in the sun. Only recently my mum took me for long walks on a beach. Humans are strange but I'll love them to bits if they ever come and rescue me. Love Alf x

    1. POOR Alf! I can imagine just the sort of place you are. But you're probably home by now and you probably forgot all about them after a bit - like I did last week when Emma was away. It's quite a shock getting back into the old routine - being forced out to walk every ten minutes, rain or shine. Still, they might go away again, one day…

  5. Plum chases apples....hmmm.....what if the apples chased Plum! Would an apple chase a plum?! What would they do if they caught plum?! Would they think plums are delicious too?

Hmmm....maybe I should switch to decaf.

    1. Plums are delicious. All kinds of plums. And I have tasted a mulberry. It was even better than blackberries.
None of them actually chased me though.
      I hope you're feeling better.

    1. Dear Molly and Leo,
How badly I want to read that book! Life Of A Fox! It is my favourite subject. How can I get a copy? Am I really in it? I could tell you a lot about my (lack of) experience with foxes. Emma is reading this over my shoulder and she says I stink of foxes today. I did roll in something earlier, it's true. I wish she wasn't so unappreciative.
      Love from Plum x
